Lycopodium is currently seeking a keen and enthusiastic
Team Leader to join our team in order to assist the
Senior Rail Superintendent in the management and rostering of track inspectors, planning and scheduling inspections, reviewing general and detailed track examinations and assisting with general technical advice within our Rail Infrastructure Management (RIM) Services division.

The tasks you'll perform

  • Support the Superintendent and the Rail Infrastructure Management (RIM) Services group in delivering technical advice, track examinations, defect assessments, asset data collection, risk management, planning and supervision of maintenance works delivery where required.
  • Manage and roster inspection staff to undertake scheduled compliance inspections in consideration of planned date of inspections, compliance latitude, travel logistics, rail terminal availability and staff fatigue requirements.
  • Undertake technical reviews of general and detailed inspections.
  • Develop scope of works based on defect and asset data.
  • Undertake field based audits and mentoring of junior staff.
  • Adjust inspection and maintenance plans where appropriate, including advise in implementing risk management strategies.
  • Operate the RIMS systems monitor the works schedule and defects and escalate as required.
  • Lead and transmit Routine RIM Client reports ensuring quality and timely delivery to clients.
  • Travel both
    regionally and
    nationally to suit the needs of the business and its operations.

The expertise you'll bring

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in staff management, rail maintenance, including track examination, routine maintenance and major maintenance activities.
  • Possess as a minimum Certificate II in Rail Infrastructure and Transport, including the following units of competence:
  • TLIB3094A Check and repair track geometry
  • TLIB3095A Check and repair points and crossings
  • TLIB3099A Examine track infrastructure
  • TLIB3100A Visually inspect track infrastructure
  • Nationally recognised competency in Track Examination and Track Certification.
  • Work Safely in the Construction Industry Induction (White Card).
  • Current railway medical category 1 (Cat 1).
  • TLIC3045 Operate Road/Rail Vehicle, NSW Protection Officer Level 2 & First Aid certificate are desirable.
  • Broad knowledge of rail systems, policies and procedures will be considered favourably.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly with the Microsoft Office suite.
  • A commitment to producing high quality work and ethical behaviour.
