About the role:


The position holder will deliver high quality administrative services to support the work of the Security Services Division within Victoria Police.

Security Services Division provides state-wide support by delivering a specialist response to circumstances involving critical high risk, armed offender, and counter terrorist related incidents.

The position holder will work as part of a team reporting to a VPS3 and the Divisional Management Team, with a focus on service excellence in a range of general administrative support functions.

You will be working with units within the Division such as Special Operations Group, Bomb Response Unit, Protective Services Unit, and the Critical Incident Response Team which consists of over 400 sworn members.


Your duties will include:

  • Provide high quality administrative support including logístical support and equipment maintenance.
  • Undertake a range of administrative functions to support the Division including maintenance and management of records, registers, and systems.
  • Receive, record, and distribute mail and incoming/outgoing correspondence.
  • Management and processing of invoices and purchase orders.
  • Coordination of corporate travel arrangements.
  • Secretariat duties such as agenda creation and minute taking.
  • Coordinate components of Divisional intakes (this includes liaising with internal and external stakeholders).
  • Provide backfill administrative support across all units within the Division.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in providing high level administrative services in a confidential environment.
  • Proven ability to work with limited supervision and the ability to prioritise workload whilst meeting strict deadlines.
  • Appropriate word processing and computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel, Word, and Teams.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, and proven ability to communicate effectively to obtain cooperation from management, staff, and various stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain systematic and accurate administrative records.
  • Ability to work within a team environment.
  • A Negative Vetting level 1 security clearance or be willing to obtain one.
  • A proven record of ethical behaviour and a demonstrated commitment to the Victoria Police Code of Ethics and Conduct, Financial Code of Practice, and the Organisational Values.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) x fulltime, ongoing position available.
  • This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head. To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
