As the Public Relations Specialist, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing a multifaceted communications strategy to support the David Jones brand.


Reporting into the PR Manager, this would suit an experienced PR professional, with strong planning and relationship skills to drive accurate and positive coverage for our brand.

You will drive a data driven approach to working with Content, influencers, and community to leverage impactful communication activities.


The PR Specialist will be pivotal to generating ideas and new ways to bring the brand to life with an entrepreneurial spirit.

You will drive innovation in developing Talent Strategies to inspire experiences and services, _like no other._

Based in Richmond with WFH flexibility, this role is a 12-month opportunity.

What will the role involve?

  • Develop key media materials and briefing documents for all David Jones personnel and David Jones engaged talent
  • Manage the Merchandise on Loan process to ensure David Jones supports key editorial opportunities whilst ensuring correct process is followed at all times.
  • Manage and update media databases
  • Manage media monitoring and compile and circulate daily media coverage report
  • Oversee consultants as required engage, brief, manage
  • Manage general media enquiries
  • Mange expense trackers and monthly forecasting for assigned programs
  • Manage Public Relations coordinator to assist in the delivery of key campaigns, retail and corporate initiatives
  • Complete detailed PIR's following key campaigns, and identify key recommendations
  • Advise and collaborate with broader marketing functions on community investment program and activity and participate in all RAP deliverables
  • Research, advise and update business on best practice in terms of Community Investment
  • Evaluate campaign effectiveness and end of campaign reporting and analysis

What are we looking for?

  • Qualification in Marketing, PR or Communications preferred
  • Direct experience working in consumer PR with a focus on fashion and lifestyle, talent management and digital strategy
  • Experience with campaign execution and budget management
  • Ability to partner with PR agency to drive outcomes with talent
  • A proven ability to build, manage and maintain and strengthen stakeholder relationships
  • Have the ability to work in a multidisciplinary, collaborative, fastpaced retail environment
