About us:


The Australian Human Rights Commission has a vacancy for an EL1 Specialist Adviser - Administrative Decisions role in their Investigation and Conciliation section.

This role is required on an ongoing part-time basis, 2 days a week. Salary range is $111,649 to $124,836 pa FTE + 15.4% superannuation.

DUTIES:

  • Prepare complex written correspondence for the President or their Delegate regarding the termination, decline or nonacceptance of complaints alleging discrimination and/or breaches of human rights under Federal human rights and discrimination law.
  • Undertake research and provide expert guidance to assist the President or their Delegate's decisionmaking processes.

Skills & Experience:

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  • Very highly developed understanding of Federal human rights and discrimination law.
  • A demonstrated ability to undertake research connected to administrative decision making and provide high quality analysis and impartial and forthright advice to inform decision makers.
  • Superior written and analytical skills, including the ability to produce written work that is comprehensive, accurate, clear and succinct. Ensures work is delivered to a high standard.
  • Extensive demonstrated experience drafting administrative decisions under Commonwealth law.
