About the role


As part of the Australian Red Cross International Program, Australian Red Cross works with Red Cross and Red Crescent National Societies, the IFRC and ICRC to improve the lives of vulnerable communities.

The Response team leads Australian Red Cross's partnerships and associated program support to our Red Cross and Red Crescent partners during responses to international disaster and crises.


The Adviser - International Response is responsible for coordinating ARC's engagement in response operations with a focus on the Pacific and other regions.

This includes supporting analysis, planning, monitoring, evaluation and learning, reporting and coordinating inputs from relevant internal stakeholders throughout the engagement in the operation.

The Adviser - International Response will also support the Senior Manager

  • International Response to seek opportunities for Australian Red Cross to expand and evolve its support, ensuring depth, relevance and valueadd to our partnership and support strong evidence bases and connections to 'the field' for Australian Red Cross's research and advocacy work.

What you will bring

  • Experience of disaster preparedness/ response/ recovery/ with Red Cross Red Crescent, NGO or other similar organisations
  • Proven ability to research and interpret complex information and translate this into strategic planning and successful implementation of operations and programs
  • Excellent analytical capacity including interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Ability to communicate, operate and work collaboratively in a crosscultural setting with a variety of stakeholders in a fastpaced environment
  • Field experience in an international organisation in a developing country context is _desirable_

  • Influenza Vaccination andVaccinations for international travel e.g. MMR, Polio, Typhoid, etc
  • Driver's License
  • Ability to travel internationally
