Role Overview:

We are looking for a dedicated PSS Manager to oversee our Post Separation Services (PSS). This includes family dispute resolution (FDR), family relationship services, senior relationship services, and other support for separated or separating families. The role also involves managing the Children's Contact Service (CCS).

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop practitioners delivering specialist services, handling both operational and administrative management.
  • Manage resources to ensure high standards of care, including performance, rosters, and leave planning.
  • Lead the development, management, reporting, and evaluation of team activities against targets and governance requirements.
  • Ensure accurate client data collection and support program evaluation and service improvement based on client feedback and emerging research.
  • Contribute to policy development, implementation, and maintaining professional standards for the team in collaboration with the Director PSS.
  • Engage stakeholders and identify innovative opportunities for the client group with the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Coordinate performance management, orientation, training, and support learning and development needs for staff and trainees.
  • Commit to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people, supporting the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations

Essential Criteria:

  1. Relevant qualification and registration/membership with AHPRA, AASW, PACFA, or ACA Level 2 or above.
  2. Experience in leading, managing, and supervising staff, particularly mediators and family dispute resolution practitioners in the community sector or Government.
  3. Clinical practice experience in family dispute resolution, including systemic frameworks.
  4. Skills in mediation, child-inclusive practice, crisis intervention, grief and loss in family separation, child development, mandatory reporting, and knowledge of the Family Law Act 1975.
  5. Understanding of family violence drivers, assessment, and risk management, using a systematic framework.
  6. Ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to facilitate smooth client transitions to other services or supports.
  7. Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, along with computer and data literacy.
  8. Knowledge of issues facing minority and diverse communities, with the ability to respond respectfully, especially with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Desirable:

  • FDRP registration with the Attorney-General's Department.

Requirements:

  • Current NSW Working with Children Check
  • Prepared to undertake a police check.
