About the Role

This is a permanent part-time position working 3 days a week, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, based in Sydney's CBD.

Uniting Counselling and Mediation

We have a long history of delivering high-quality services, being well-regarded, and connected with Family Law stakeholders.

As a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, you'll provide interventions to families post-separation who are experiencing conflict and unable to reach agreements regarding parenting arrangements and property distribution.

These interventions include mediation, therapeutic mediation, legally assisted mediation, and child-inclusive practice within the Family Law Act.

We offer innovative telehealth and digital options to provide services to families.

You'll work with a dynamic team of therapists and FDRPs to support separated families.

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Accredited by the Australian Attorney-General's Department as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner or eligible to apply for accreditation.
  • Tertiary qualified in law, psychology, or social work.
  • Accredited as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner or able to complete training to meet accreditation requirements.
  • Familiar with child-inclusive mediation practice and family law legislation.
  • Knowledgeable about community services, especially those relating to families experiencing relationship difficulties.
  • Able to work independently and contribute to the team's functioning.
  • Excellent communicator, organizer, and writer.
  • Computer literate.
  • Able to meet program-specific client targets.
