A unique opportunity exists for a National Sales Manager to join a long standing spirits company with premium assets and products.

This newly created role is pivotal to their future growth strategy and will develop and execute the national sales plan, including building a sales team.

Reporting to the CEO/MD you will develop and implement the tactical sales plans for the Australian market, working towards the goal of expanding market share and increasing profitability both nationally and at a local level.


Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and executing a national sales plan including budgeting and forecasting
  • Recruiting, training and leading a sales team to achieve KPIs and sales targets
  • Working closely with national retailers, wholesalers and on premise customers to identify and convert opportunities and increased ranging
  • Developing and implementing strategies to source new business, to meet and exceed sales targets and to grow existing accounts
  • Introducing sales processes for improved efficiencies
  • Being hands on, client facing and a strong influencer and negotiator
  • Developing a comprehensive understanding of the product range and its positioning in the market
  • Exceeding business objectives through effective planning, goal setting and building strategic relationships
  • Analysing and monitoring sales data to develop strategies for improving future performance
  • Staying abreast of industry news and market conditions
  • An accomplished commercial sales career within the spirits industry
  • At least five years' experience in a sales management role, leading teams to deliver business outcomes
  • Commercial aptitude and experience conducting annual business reviews, trading term negotiations, pricing and the like
  • A track record of managing and growing national accounts (Coles, ED, ALM, Paramount etc) and a good understanding of onpremise
  • A passion for building premium brands
  • An ability to roll up your sleeves to get the job done
  • Strong communication skills, a pragmatic approach and skill in influencing internal and external stakeholders


With significant prior experience working within the spirits industry, you bring knowledge and expertise in sales management, building mutually beneficial business relationships, strategic planning and implementing smooth seamless internal processes.

You are commercially savvy and can manage P&Ls, forecasts and budgets.

Highly regarded are your leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills allowing you to identify, develop and implement key business initiatives.

You flourish in a role which is collaborative, agile, fast paced and hands on.
