About the roleAs the Planning and Scheduling Superintendent reporting to the Engineering Manager, your key responsibility will be to provide planning, scheduling, quality assurance, and maintenance support services.
You will work alongside a team of maintenance specialists at the Port Botany Terminal workshop to maintain heavy mobile equipment and fixed plants, ensuring seamless business operations to meet customer needs.
This role is ideal for an individual who excels in planning, prioritizing, and delivering top-notch service to internal stakeholders.
Previous experience in planning and scheduling, particularly in heavy equipment roles, would be advantageous for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring strict adherence to safety practices;
- Identifying and resolving potential safety and reliability issues in equipment;
- Developing and implementing systems to measure maintenance equipment efficiency;
- Fostering employee development through leadership and coaching;
- Promoting continuous improvement practices;
- Managing maintenance budgets effectively.
Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Advanced planning and priority management skills;
- Strong leadership qualities;
- Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement maintenance techniques;
- Proficiency in Workplace Health & Safety and Environmental regulations;
- Ability to deliver results in demanding environments;
- Familiarity with computer-based maintenance management systems, specifically Maximo;
- Experience in maintenance management within heavy industries;
- Strong computer literacy;
- Mechanical or Electrical trades certification with relevant post-trade qualifications;
- Preferably a tertiary engineering qualification.
