Geology Superintendent required for a permanent position FIFOYour new role To optimise mined grade, evaluate geological risk, provide timely and accurate geological information to stakeholders and develop and grow the site's mineral resources whilst ensuring the geology functions take place within a healthy, safe and sustainable environment What you'll need to succeed Essential: Tertiary qualification in Geology Must be a member either of Aus IMM or AIGQMS1,2,3 Planning: to be able to anticipate future trends, probabilities and interpret consequences; to be able to execute long range planning and logistical organisation.

Advanced user of one of the planning / geological modelling software packages.
Knowledge of the geographical information systems such as Mapinfo, Discovery, Micromine or Data-shed would be an advantage.
Competent user of MS Office tools.
A proven track record in a similar role on a mine or with a consulting group.

Expertise and knowledge:
requires high level of geological/exploration experience and expertise to institute best practices and solutions.

Personal Qualities / Behavioural Traits Leadership and management competencies: to lead the geology function at the site and manage staff towards the desired objectives, standards and outcomes.

to ensure focus on important deliverables and drive achievement of functional as well as personal job objectives.

Position:
Geologist -

Operations Roster: 8 days on, 6 days off Here's what awaits you: Collate and deliver accurate production data, forecasts and associated daily reports.

Perform geological checks on headings where there is some uncertainty of whether ore is present in the broken rock and clearly communicate the results to the production team.

Consciously look for and identify opportunity structures underground.
Interpret, mark up, and wall map these structures and get survey to pick them up.
Pass on the information about these structures to the Senior Geologist for follow-up work.

Reconcile development and stope production tonnes and grade back to the grade control model and as part of end of month reconciliation process.

Logging and supervision of underground diamond drilling programs.

Interpret all data collected on a regular basis and communicate relevant information to the appropriate personnel (Senior Geologists, Planning Engineers, Surveyors, Mine Foremen).

To thrive in this role, you'll need: Experience:1-2 years geological experience, preferably in gold and underground.
The use of Geological Software and Database systems (Leapfrog, Datamine and Acquire preferred).
Good working knowledge of QA/QC processes.

Qualifications:
Degree majoring in Geology from a recognised tertiary institution.
Current "C" Class Western Australian Drivers Licence.

About the role We are looking for a Senior Production Geologist on a full-time basis reporting to the Manager of Resource Development and Planning.

This position supervises the Production Geology function within the Resource Development and Planning Department.
This position is being offered on a 5/2, 4/3 roster (negotiable).

Core responsibilities To supervise and assist in mine geology functions, including grade control, production reporting and reconciliation, resource evaluation and orebody grade control drilling programs.


  • Ensure production geological activities are being executed in line with daily, weekly and monthly mining plans.
  • Develop and maintain standards for geological data management and ensuring all required geological and geotechnical information is captured.
  • Develop and maintain geology data requirements to complete stope related reviews and reconciliation activities when required.
  • Ensure all production geology information is completed for daily, weekly and monthly reporting.
  • Complete the monthly mine to mill reconciliation process.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of existing systems and processes and identify opportunity for improvement.
  • Champion an active safety culture within the Production Geology team and ensure team compliance to organisational policies and procedures
  • Ensure all directions of the Manager Resource Development and Planning are met.

About you To be successful in this role you will have a tertiary qualification in Geology and 6+ years' experience in a similar role with a strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, production and drill databases (Acquire) and 3 D mine design software (Surpac, Leapfrog, Deswik).

You will need to have a c-class licence and be comfortable and able to work both un-supervised and as part of a team whilst demonstrating strong communication and organisational skills enabling you to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
