australia sydney contract au$350 - au$450 per dayOur client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join their team as a Derivatives Collateral Operations Associate.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing and optimizing collateral requirements for various derivative transactions.

Your expertise will contribute to the efficient operation of our firm's derivatives trading activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and enhancing risk management strategies.


Key Responsibilities:

Collateral Management: Monitor, reconcile, and manage collateral requirements for derivative transactions, including futures, options, swaps, and other complex instruments.

Margin Calls: Initiate and respond to margin calls from counterparties, ensuring timely and accurate collateral postings and settlements.

Trade Support: Collaborate with trading desks and external counterparties to resolve collateral-related discrepancies, trade breaks, and margin disputes.

Collateral Optimization: Employ optimization techniques to enhance the utilization of available collateral, minimizing funding costs and maximizing operational efficiency.

Valuation and Reconciliation: Validate collateral valuations, ensuring alignment with market prices and valuation methodologies. Investigate and resolve valuation discrepancies as needed.

Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date collateral agreements, legal documents, and trade confirmations related to collateral transactions.

Reporting: Generate regular reports on collateral positions, margin requirements, and related metrics for internal stakeholders and regulatory compliance.

Risk Management: Assist in identifying and mitigating potential risks associated with collateral management, and contribute to the development of risk management strategies.

Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and market practices, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements related to collateral management and derivatives trading.

Process Enhancement: Continuously identify opportunities to streamline and improve collateral operations processes, leveraging technology and automation where applicable.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various teams including front office, middle office, risk management, and technology to ensure smooth and effective collateral operations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) would be a plus.
  • Proven experience in collateral operations, derivatives trading, or related fields within the financial industry.
  • Strong understanding of derivative products, valuation methodologies, and collateral management practices.
  • Proficiency in using collateral management systems, trading platforms, and financial software tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with internal teams and external counterparties.
  • Ability to thrive in a fastpaced, deadlinedriven environment while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with regulatory guidelines and industry best practices related to derivatives trading and collateral management.
