About the directorate


Curriculum and Reform is responsible for supporting the implementation of policies and the design of high-quality, high-impact, evidence-based resources and tools to support curriculum implementation across P-12.

The directorate coordinates a range of special programs and leads the department's response to the NSW Curriculum Reform

About the role


The Creative Arts Coordinator 7-12 leads the state-wide implementation of Creative Arts 7-12 syllabuses and related curriculum through the provision of quality curriculum policy advice, the development and implementation of online professional learning and teaching and learning resources to support teachers in NSW public schools.

Key Application Responses:

  • Teaching qualifications and successful teaching experience within the K12 range
  • Demonstrated understanding of the professional standards and accreditation processes and capacity to coordinate accreditation processes with staff
  • Excellent liaison, negotiation, conflict resolution and team building skills across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of curriculum, professional practice, policies, relevant legislation, initiatives and current research in education
  • Demonstrated high level capacity to initiate, develop, evaluate and coordinate planning, monitoring and reporting practices to drive improvement
  • Significant experience and demonstrated achievement in innovative and successful development and implementation of professional learning services for schools
  • Proven ability to plan, implement, manage, monitor and evaluate educational programs, provisions and resources
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
