About this opportunity


We are looking for an inspiring leader who is passionate about timetabling and scheduling to lead our Network Service Design Team.

Reporting to the Manager, Master Timetable & Service Design this role involves:

  • Managing the Service Design team and overseeing the design and implementation of any planned deviations to the Master Timetables (e.g., special or major events, occupations, seasonal timetables or other ad 'hoc deviations)
  • Being responsible for the safe, efficient, accurate and costeffective scheduling of the network (vehicle schedules, crew schedules and rosters) in accordance with Yarra Trams systems, processes, obligations and constraints
  • Assisting with delivering the passenger services as outlined in the Yarra Trams business plan and the franchise agreement
  • Undertaking ad 'hoc and systemic analysis and reporting to meet the needs of Yarra Trams
  • Providing technical expertise and recommendations for the continuous improvement of the planning of the network

About you

Ideally you will have:

  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications and/or possess demonstrated industry experience (5+ years)
  • Excellent operational understanding of public transport systems
  • Detailed knowledge of the design features of the tram network
  • Expert knowledge of rostering and scheduling systems (i.e., Hastus, AVM) and their operating environment
  • Ability to interpret Franchise Agreements, Enterprise Agreements and an understanding of industrial relations
  • Strong conflict resolution and Stakeholders management skills
  • Demonstrated managerial leadership skills, ability to effectively manage and motivate staff
