Comcare's Technology and Information Management (TAIM) team is responsible for maintaining the Information Communication and Technology infrastructure for the department. They offer strategic leadership, governance, solutions, and advice to ensure effective information management.

The Cybersecurity & Assurance unit within TAIM focuses on Governance, Risk and Compliance, as well as ensuring the Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of information. This unit oversees Cybersecurity and Information Management portfolios.

The Information Management Unit, a part of TAIM, handles records administration, end user support, and training for electronic document records management systems (EDRMS). They also provide guidance on information architecture, manage mail and courier services, and are responsible for physical records stored offsite.

Overview of the Role

The APS6 Digital Records Team Leader leads a small team, offering guidance on information management functions to provide responsive, reliable, and accurate services to Comcare. Responsibilities include overseeing administrative activities, such as forecasting and reporting, and providing legislative advice to support Comcare's information management related activities.

This role primarily focuses on promoting best practices and contributing to governance discussions on record management within the department.

The role includes managing information architecture activities and providing records management education/training to Comcare staff.

Mandatory Qualifications/Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in records/information management. Experience in the Commonwealth Government sector is advantageous.
  • Strong expertise and knowledge of relevant legislation, particularly in relation to record/information management.

Eligibility and Specific Conditions of Employment

  • Character clearance required (police records check).
  • Health clearance.
  • Six-month probationary period for new hires.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 Security Clearance.
