The Role:

In this 12 month contract, you will be reporting to the Manager - Peninsula & Westernport.

This role will maintain our customer's confidence and trust as the region's waterway manager, provider of valued drainage and land services and stream flow diversion manager.

The primary task of this role is to plan and initiate projects that improve the region's waterways and contribute to the implementation of the Healthy Waterways Strategy

This will be achieved through:

  • Undertake spatial mapping and capture of project objectives and targets for capital projects using ESRI online
  • Capture capital project requirements in project management system (Project Online) and asset management system (Maximo) in line with work instructions
  • Collaboration with landowners, traditional owners, internal stakeholders and consultants to obtain and evaluate the extent of works/ obtain condition reports before handing over to the delivery team (capital works)

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge and passion for natural resource management, waterway rehabilitation and drainage function
  • Ability and confidence to work autonomously and collaboratively when needed.
  • A good understand and knowledge of GIS (ESRI) and project/asset management systems (Maximo)
  • A strong ground and appreciation for customer requirements and safety
  • A Certificate or Degree in Conservation /Science/Land Management/Natural Resource Management or a similar field (preferred)
  • A drivers Licence
