About the role:
An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Specialist Counsel in Energy & Resources Law to join our high-achieving team. This position is ideal for an ambitious professional aiming to optimize their income potential. You will be involved in diverse sectors such as oil and gas, LNG, hydrogen, renewables, and mining. Key responsibilities include legal counsel, contract drafting and negotiation, regulatory adherence, due diligence, and overseeing client relations. Key Responsibilities:
- Offer expert legal counsel on energy and resources projects, encompassing downstream energy transactions and regulatory aspects
- Draft and negotiate intricate contracts like power purchase agreements, gas supply agreements, and electricity supply agreements
- Ensure compliance with regulations and provide guidance on ASX Listing Rules
- Conduct due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and investments
- Manage client associations and offer strategic legal advice
- Represent clients in negotiations and conflict resolutions
- Remain updated on industry trends and regulatory modifications
Key Requirements:
- Qualified as a solicitor in Australia with a minimum of 7 years PQE in Energy & Resources Law
- Extensive expertise in downstream energy projects, corporate counsel, and international transactions
- Robust business awareness and client management skills
- Exceptional communication and negotiation proficiencies
- Demonstrated history of revenue generation and delivery of top-notch legal services
