The Firm
A prominent commercial law firm located in Brisbane's CBD is looking to hire a Special Counsel specializing in estate planning and succession law. If you're passionate about delivering top-notch estate planning, self-managed superannuation, and asset protection solutions to affluent clients, this opportunity is for you.
This Role
As a key member of the team, you will work closely with a respected Partner who handles intricate estate planning and asset protection cases. Your responsibilities will include:
- Offering strategic advice on asset protection and succession planning
- Managing estate planning for family trusts and SMSFs
- Dealing with complex asset protection issues and maintaining asset structures
- Drafting Wills and managing Powers of Attorney
- Addressing tax implications in estate planning
Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned lawyer with over 5 years of experience post admission. Additionally, you should have:
- Specialization in estate planning and succession law
- Experience in drafting Wills, testamentary trusts, and Powers of Attorney
- Proficiency in handling family trusts and SMSFs for succession planning
- Ability to offer strategic legal advice with a commercial focus
- Demonstrated mentoring skills
- Practical and outcome-oriented mindset
- Capability to work independently and manage competing priorities efficiently
- Previous experience in commercial law is a bonus
