About the position:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Special Counsel in Energy & Resources Law to join our high-performing team. This role is perfect for a driven professional looking to rapidly advance their career. You will work across various sectors, including oil and gas, LNG, hydrogen, renewables, and mining. Key responsibilities include legal advisory, contract negotiation and drafting, regulatory compliance, due diligence, and client relationship management. The firm offers a clear and direct pathway to Partnership for top performers, making it an ideal environment for ambitious lawyers.
Key Duties:
- Provide expert legal advice on energy and resources projects, including downstream energy transactions and regulation
- Draft and negotiate complex contracts such as power purchase agreements, gas supply agreements, and electricity supply agreements
- Ensure regulatory compliance and advise on ASX Listing Rules
- Conduct due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and investment transactions
- Manage client relationships and provide strategic legal guidance
- Represent clients in negotiations and dispute resolutions
- Stay current with industry developments and regulatory changes
Key Requirements:
- Admitted as a solicitor in Australia with a minimum of 7 years PQE in Energy & Resources Law
- Extensive experience in downstream energy projects, corporate advisory, and cross-border transactions
- Strong commercial acumen and client service skills
- Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities
- Proven track record of driving revenue and delivering high-quality legal services
