The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare.

As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability.

For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need.

The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.

A new role awaits

Contribute to success across the NDIA in this EL2 Director role.

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate individual to join our team to lead a high performing team establish productive relationships with key stakeholders, and provide high-level advice to our senior management, Executive Leadership Team, and NDIA Board.


The People Policy and Workplace Relations Branch supports the broader Agency through expert people policy development, education, productive engagement, and relationships.

The branch will oversee the implementation of the Enterprise Agreement (EA), create, and revise contemporary people policies which align to the EA and NDIA's vision, values, and strategic goals.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:Creating and leading a multi-functional HR team in a high profile, fast paced environment.

Working closely with various stakeholders, including the Senior Executive Service, to identify strategic and operational workforce requirements to shape people policy.

Creating effective consultation arrangements to engage with employees and their representatives.

Managing, resolving and responding to a range of employment matters and enquiries in line with the NDIA EA, work practices and relevant legislation including remuneration aspects.

Partnering with others to deliver strategic and tailored initiatives that enhance the delivery of people solutions and work practices.

We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months with the possibility of extension up to 2 years may be offered.
