EL2 Director, Reviews Debt Management Bereavement and Governance The role of the Income Support Branch is to provide quality and timely service to eligible veterans and their families to ensure an appropriate level of income support.

We are committed to delivering the Australian Government's social policy and support agenda for several generations of the veteran community and their families.

This is done through the administration of various means-tested benefits and allowances for eligible veterans and their dependents.

As an EL2 you will support the Assistant Secretary, Income Support Branch, in directing the work and managing the resources of the Branch to ensure DVA's business targets are met.

You will lead a team providing high quality services to our clients, advice to the Senior Executive team and to colleagues across the Department.

You will work in partnership with colleagues across APS Departments, agencies and other levels of government.

Duties

Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS).

All applicants external to DVA offered employment will be required to successfully undergo a pre-engagement screening check, even if they have a security clearance.

The screening check is conducted in accordance with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework requirements.

Where a non-ongoing position is offered, the role will be filled for an initial specified term of up to18 months.

A merit pool of suitable applicants may be created which may be used to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies should they become available over the next 18 months.

Successful applicants engaged into the APS will be subject to a probation period.
