The Role

  • This is a newly created, exciting opportunity to own the creation and maintenance of the integrated Enterprise Portfolio Schedule and roadmap.
  • Leading a small team of Program Schedulers, you will be responsible for providing scenario planning and insights to enable Project Sponsors, stakeholders and Executives to make data driven decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a small team of Program schedulers
  • Own, create, manage, and maintain an integrated Enterprise Portfoliowide schedule and roadmap
  • Collation of schedules across multiple tools (Excel, JIRA, Microsoft Project) into a single Integrated Schedules & Roadmap
  • Complete scenario planning to understand the impacts of changes to schedules on resourcing, cost to deliver and benefits profile, and provide insights to executives to enable decision making.
  • Ensure that risks, issues and dependencies with portfolio impacts are raised with appropriate mitigations to Executive forums.
  • Evaluate project and portfolio schedule progress and performance to identify problem areas and advises possible corrective actions to ensure on time delivery.
  • Track and report on progress against Key milestones across the portfolio
  • Track and report on Key dependencies across the portfolio.
  • Facilitate portfolio and program planning and dependency events.
  • Facilitate assessment of options for portfolio resequencing
  • Coach Program Schedulers, project managers and other project team members on how to track milestones, dependencies and manage project schedules across agile, traditional and hybrid projects.
  • Provide expertise and advice on planning and scheduling to ensure the optimum delivery of programs/projects,
  • Identify and implement planning and scheduling improvement initiatives, including updating, developing and maintaining the planning and scheduling framework, processes and templates
  • Develop, maintain and manage multiple schedules across projects and Master schedules in program

To Be Successful in This Role You Will Possess:

  • Demonstrated experience in portfolio planning, scheduling, and/or program management within complex environments
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Project and Excel
  • Strong JIRA knowledge
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, confidence in liaising with people at all levels
  • Strong Excel, PowerPoint, Word skills
  • Experience gained within financial services industry (medium to large enterprise)
  • Strong team player able to navigate complexity
  • Skilled in stakeholder management, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with all relevant parties
  • Ability to identify and prioritise stakeholders' needs and expectations, and incorporate them into project plans
  • Proficient in managing stakeholder relationships, addressing concerns, and fostering positive engagement
  • Capable of adjusting project plans and strategies while maintaining focus on project objectives and deliverables
