About the Role:

This is a Permaneent Part Time position at 32 hours per fortnight within the Medical Imaging team.

In this role you will work in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager to provide facilitated learning and leadership at the unit level, to develop high quality clinical care skills with staff. You will work alongside other members of the Nursing Education team playing a key role in the development and acquisition of skills and knowledge-based competence and confidence. In addition, you will contribute to both local and wider hospital based education programs, such as the Graduate Nurse Program and Career Advancement Year Program.

Classification for this position is RN28, Clinical Support Nurse (FTE base salary $102,278 per annum, plus superannuation).

What You'll Achieve:

  • Support the delivery of excellence in nursing care by working alongside new & existing staff to develop their skills, knowledge, abilities, and attributes providing direct clinical support
  • Contribute to RCH nursing patient care protocols
  • Coordinate, develop, and provide education for the ward and hospital wide in-service sessions, and professional development sessions and days
  • Contribute to nursing & patient care protocols and guidelines
  • Collaborate with NUMs and staff to identify the education needs of the department and develop a department-based education plan

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) administered though the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA)
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing personal and professional development, as evidenced in a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) record/Profession al practice Portfolio
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience of adult learning and learning management systems
  • Extensive acute paediatric clinical experience
  • Relevant postgraduate certificate/diploma in Nursing, Education, Paediatrics or equivalent
  • Small or large group teaching experience
  • Proficient in the use of the Electronic Medical Record
