Job Description

This is a role within the Procurement team, specifically the Supplier Governance team. This team owns the Supplier Governance Framework on behalf of Enterprise Procurement, supports the governance of for material outsourcing arrangements and material business activities and will lead the uplift required to meet the changing needs of the bank.

  • Support the development/maintenance of procurement policies and procedures in line with industry best practice and regulatory requirements.
  • Support any uplift required to comply with APRA supplier related requirements (such as CPS 230) and support other regulatory change projects with supplier impacts.
  • Assist to develop and embed supplier management framework for supplier relationships for the Bank.
  • Develop guidance in the form of procedure documents, FAQ, training and communication, intranet uplift.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure that all policies and procedures are understood and adhered to.
  • Provide SME support for questions around outsourcing framework and processes.
  • Prepare governance assessments and summaries for senior management to present to board or management committees or forums.
  • Reporting and analytics over key metrics providing insights into areas of responsibility. Thematic insights reporting and external reporting to regulators as required.

The Successful Applicant

  • A strong history of stakeholder management and collaboration.
  • Deep understanding of APRA prudential standards CPS 231 and CPS 234.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, procedures, and systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of the risks technology solutions pose to financial institutions desirable
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement or supplier governance, ideally within a financial institution
  • Proven experience dealing with high performing supplier functions and comfortable challenging the status quo within broader financial services arena is highly desirable.
  • Expert knowledge of best-in-class supplier governance processes and policies.
  • An understanding of the requirements of AUSTRAC and how it impacts supplier on boarding and on the ongoing management of the supply base.
  • Practical experience with implementation of governance standards, ideally in a financial services environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience engaging at all levels of the business.
  • History of balancing business drivers and management of risk in a complex environment.
