About the Role

As an APS5 Complaints Officer, you will play a crucial role in managing complaints and participant incidents, contributing to the enhancement of our services and the resolution of complex inquiries.


  • Manage complaints and participant incidents, including assessment, recording, resolution, and appropriate referrals.
  • Handle escalated complaints efficiently, ensuring adherence to strict deadlines.
  • Draft highquality written correspondence tailored to various audiences, including formal responses for the Minister.
  • Coordinate correspondence, briefing, and reporting functions for the Complaints Team.
  • Provide support to the Complaints Team, facilitating their operational efficiency and effectiveness.

About you

To thrive in this role, you need:

  • Demonstrated experience in managing complaints and resolving complex inquiries.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to tailor messages to different stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational and timemanagement skills, with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle confronting and complex situations and information.
  • Be able to pass and hold a national police check and worker screening check.
  • Must be an **Australian Citizen.
