John Holland, CPB Contractors and Ghella have commence design and construction work for the Sydney Metro West - Eastern Tunnelling Package.


With a contract worth $1.63 billion, the Eastern Tunnelling Package includes construction of 3.5-kilometre tunnels under Sydney Harbour between The Bays and the Sydney CBD, and the excavation of Pyrmont and Hunter Street stations.

Starting at The Bays, tunnel boring machines will cross the harbour near the Anzac Bridge, before heading to the new Pyrmont station and then under Darling Harbour before reaching Hunter Street in the heart of the CBD.

This is the final piece in the puzzle to deliver the city-shaping Sydney Metro West project.

The role:


As Site Administrator your role will be to provide administrative support to the project, which typically includes tasks such as data entry; the maintenance of financial records; compiling of reports; the processing and completion of forms, stakeholder communications; organisation of team meetings / event logistics; and secretarial support as required.


This role will also be responsible for:

  • Maintain project security by following procedures and controlling access to the building. Eg issuing visitor badges and following visitor sign in procedures
  • Maintain project filing and database systems, storing information accurately and safely
  • Ensure expenses and invoices are processed and are in line with contractual obligations
  • Provide administrative support which may include arranging and attending meetings, conferences, functions, taking and distributing minutes, and making travel and accommodation arrangements as required
  • Assist the daytoday operations of the office

Skills and experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience working in a similar role
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office
  • Word (Advanced), Excel (Advanced), Power Point (Advanced), Outlook (Advance
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • High degree of accuracy in typing, spelling, and grammar
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Effective teamplayer capabilities
  • Positive, enthusiastic, and flexible attitude
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet tight deadlines, and high attention to detail
