Services are comprised of 24-hour inpatient care, Monday to Friday outpatient departments, several specialist community teams inclusive of Transitional Aged Care, Aged Care Assessment Team, Geriatric Flying Squad, Young Onset Dementia, 6 day a week day centre program, 24-hour accommodation service for regional guests and the full range of hospital support services.

The Billing and Finance Administration Officer (BFAO) is responsible for accurate and timely patient billing processes including accounts, record keeping and liaison with various health funding organisations.
The role is integral to procurement processes and invoicing whilst also serving as a local support and system champion for other users.
There are day to day cash handling and reconciliation requirements with record keeping as per policy, auditing and accreditation requirements.
This role is a conduit of centralised information to Uniting Finance and Payroll Services.The position plays an important supporting role in educating the relevant workforce re new systems and efficient administrative practices. The BFAO supports the Business and Performance Manager in monitoring and delivering effective contract management practices.
This role has direct interface with other administrative roles in ensuring efficient processes and liaises with external stakeholders within NSW Ministry of Health and Uniting.
There is limited interaction with patients or carers as required.The role is well supported by direct line management and professional development is supported and encouraged.
This position is a permanent part time role of 20 hours per week across Monday-Friday.

All NSW Health workers are required to have received at least three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine AND an Influenza vaccine by 1st
June 2023 or have an approved medical contraindication certificate. You will be required to provide a record of your COVID-19 and Influenza vaccination status at interview.
- Experience in the provision of high quality administration services, with sound attention to detail
- Proven high level oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with a customer focus
- Demonstrated capacity to understand, review, implement and communicate clear processes utilising effective adult learning principles
- Experience or willingness to learn about health care billing processes ensuring efficient workflows and astute business practices
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn hospital procurement processes at an administrative level
- Experience and/or understanding of cash handling procedures incorporating sound financial controls
- Capacity to work under direct supervision and autonomously in meeting duties ensuring sound organisational skills, appropriate prioritisation and timely completion of tasks
Demonstrated high level of computer experience including the Microsoft Office Suite and experience in or willingness to learn health finance or database packages (such as Dynamics 365, iPM, eClaims, Microsoft AX)
