As a Billing Officer your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Accurate and timely billing of Medicare, Health Fund and Third Party invoices
  • Field patient billing enquiries and provide resolution
  • Banking and Debtor Management
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of Health Fund contracts and Medicare referral and billing rules
  • Problem solving patient account queries, discrepancies and proactive follow ups
  • Provide support to administration team

Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated billing experience in a similar role, ideally in a hospital or healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of Private Health Fund contracts and claiming process (desired)
  • Sound knowledge of Patient Management System i.e. WebPAS or other
  • Highly developed organisational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work well within a team as well as selfdirection
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office, particularly Excel
