We are seeking an experienced
Payroll Team Lead to lead our centralised payroll function, performing end to end payroll processing using both Aurion and Peoplesoft.

The role will be responsible for the leading a team of 5 payroll professionals, partnering with the business to deliver payroll services.

This role is based in Brisbane.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end to end payroll function, for 3,500+ employees across 6 entities
  • Lead the yearend payroll tasks including; STP reporting, year end payroll reporting, international payroll requirements
  • Conduct regular reviews and audits of the payroll system
  • Provide leadership, mentoring and support to the payroll team
  • Develop and conduct training sessions across the organisation
  • Maintain up to date policies, procedures and processes
  • Proactively identify opportunities to automate, streamline and simplify payroll processes
  • Leading the identification, scoping and implementation of system enhancements
  • Work closely with Finance, HR and IT
  • Key contact for internal and external auditors

Experience/Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Payroll, Accounting or similar is desirable
  • Experience leading a high performing Payroll Team
  • 10+ years experience in processing complex end to end payroll
  • 10+ years experience in the EOFY payroll process
  • Experience in Aurion or PeopleSoft, desirable
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to plan, coordinate and manage competing priorities
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation
