Albury Wodonga Health (AWH) is the largest regional health service between Sydney and Melbourne, located in the twin cities of Albury and Wodonga. Our dedicated team of nearly 3,000 staff supports a population of 250,000 people throughout North-East Victoria and Southern NSW. AWH is a dynamic organisation undergoing significant growth, including the development of new state of the art Emergency and Mental Health facilities. The Wangaratta site is located 68 kilometres south of Albury/ Wodonga and is a well serviced regional city with a population of 30,000. The Opportunity
We require a Mental Health Clinician to join our Community Team. This position reports to the Manager of the Community Mental Health Team. The Wangaratta Community Mental Health Team is a dynamic multidisciplinary team of Mental Health professionals who practise in a recovery orientated framework. Our Team is hard working and takes pride in the consumer focussed recovery orientated care we provide. The consumer is at the forefront of everything we do and the clinicians we are seeking to attract are required to have the consumer's interests at the centre of every interaction they have. The Wangaratta Community Mental Health Team covers a large geographical area. The Team outreaches to clinics in Myrtleford/ Bright; Benalla/ Mansfield and Yarrawonga. These outreach locations are supported from the Wangaratta site twice weekly, weekly or as needed, with staff travelling to and from the Wangaratta site daily to accommodate these regional needs. Qualifications & Experience required for this position include:
- Eligibility for registration with AHPRA or social worker eligible for membership with the AASW. Nurses will hold a specialist psychiatric nursing undergraduate qualification or a Bachelor of Mental Health Nursing or a Postgraduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing
- Demonstrated ability to function independently and within a multidisciplinary team environment
- Committment to and understanding of contemporary mental health service provision
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
