PERSOLKELLY is seeking Desktop Support Office for one of their Key Government Client for their IT team.


You shall be responsible to provide installation, maintenance and support for personal computers, network and telecommunications equipment for City staff and Councilors.

To provide computer operations, processing and distribution services.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy desktop computers, printers and related equipment.
  • Install, configure and support software packages on personal computing devices.
  • Install, configure and support device operating systems as appropriate. Undertake lifting and moving of relevant ICT equipment as required.
  • Provide support to end users, and solve their computing problems in a timely manner.
  • Maintain the helpdesk database and prepare and provide statistical reports.
  • Assist with the support and maintenance of the City's Intranet and Internet.
  • Provide hardware and software installation and support to Councillors, if required.
  • Provide backup and support to other Departmental Officers as required.
  • Undertake daily and other periodical computer processing tasks and standard operations including restoration of data files and system housekeeping procedures.
  • Undertake repairs of desktop computers and peripherals where appropriate.
  • Maintain an inventory of computer hardware, software and network equipment.
  • Comply with the City's Equal Opportunity, Discrimination, Harassment and Bullying Policies at all times.
  • Follow and comply with all Work, Health & Safety and Environmental policies and procedures to ensure personal safety and the safety of others is maintained at all times, including the reporting of unsafe practices or hazards to supervisors or WHS Representatives, whilst protecting and sustaining the environment and ensuring prevention of pollution.
  • Actively seek and report on methods of improving systems of work, policies and practices, to ensure the continuous improvement of the City's Business Management System.
  • Exercise appropriate authority whilst acting in the best interests of the City, its Customers and the Community, meeting legislative and operational requirements.
  • Undertake other duties within the scope and level of this position as directed by the IT Support Officer.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Possession of, or progression towards, a relevant qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Sound knowledge of contemporary information technology and computer operations.
  • Exposure to the installation and support of Microsoft Windows operating systems.
  • Previous experience with the installation and configuration of desktop systems, components and peripheral equipment.
  • Good interpersonal and conflict resolution skills with the ability to communicate with a range of people and groups to ensure delivery of a high level of customer service.
  • Sound written communication skills
  • Possession of, or the ability to acquire, a current motor vehicle driver's license.
  • Possession of, or the ability to acquire, a satisfactory National Police Clearance Certificate (dated within the last twelve months).
