About the role:


Within the current industrial relations landscape, organisational policies, vision and values, and in close collaboration with the People and Culture leadership team and General Manager People and Culture, provides day-to-day guidance and support for the People & Culture Business Partners in relation to matters within the allocated portfolio.


The Regional Workforce Manager, People & Culture is primarily responsible in leading, mentoring and coaching the Workforce People and Culture Business Partners to support and partner with the business to design, develop and implement strategies that will attract, engage, and develop employees and build upon a high-performance culture.

The Regional Workforce Manager will also be the primary contact for designated sites/services to provide human resources advice, support and services to managers and employees including:

  • To provide expert advice and professional guidance on staffing and industrial issues including interpretation of legislation awards and other employment instruments
  • To manage disputes, grievances and disciplinary processes
  • To consult and negotiate particularly as part of change management and dispute resolution processes with relevant unions as required
  • Oversee endtoend employee life cycle processes
  • Support managers will performance development planning
  • To assist managers with all aspects of recruitment and selection of employees
  • Reporting on key HR metrics to support the business in achievement of KPIs and operational requirements
There are two opportunities available supporting People and Culture initiatives across:

  • North-West and Northern Regional Victoria, as well as Northern Tasmania
  • Southern Victoria and Southern Tasmania
Travel throughout the Uniting AgeWell Network across these designations will be a requirement of this role.

  • Experience and expertise in negotiating enterprise agreements with unions or other bargaining representatives
  • Experience and expertise in interpretation of awards and agreements, particularly in relation to the Aged Care sector
  • Experience and expertise in analysing, amending or constructing residential aged care rosters
  • Experience and expertise in planning and implementing a range of organisational change situations
  • Tertiary qualifications in human resources and / or industrial relations or equivalent industry experience
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and develop effective solutions to complex issues
  • Thrive in a team and also appreciate the one to one interactions
