An exciting and unique opportunity exists for a talented and passionate individual to join the Corporate Services Branch as Principal Consultant, Health Safety and Wellbeing in the People and Culture team at the Department of Government Services.

The People and Culture unit works across the department and its portfolio agencies, to create a high performing workplace that puts people first.

As the Principal Consultant Health, Safety and Wellbeing you will support the operational health safety and wellbeing team through the provision of high-level advice and assistance at an organisational and operational level.

This position offers the opportunity to showcase your excellent problem solving, communication and relationship building skills and work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

About you

  • Demonstrated experience in providing succinct and clear expert advice on a range of employment, change management or health and safety matters.
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation, policies and procedures including the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 201
  • Highly developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Sound problem solving and analytical skills.

To be able to meet the COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination requirements and for the department to meet its obligations under the OH&S Act, the department will request employees provide their vaccination information (including 3rd dose / booster) or evidence of an exemption throughout the recruitment process.
