The opportunity:


In your role you will report to our Guest Welcome Manager and be an integral part in the front office team as the hotel representative in the absence of senior management and working with the Front Office Leadership team to balance guest expectations, colleague needs and profitability.


Your success in this job will be largely dependent on your ability to run a smooth night shift operation as well as your strong organisational and communication abilities plus your keen eye for detail to make the necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy of the Hotel's reporting.


Some of the things you'll be doing:

  • Coaching, training and developing our night team to ensure a warm and friendly service is consistent for all guests.
  • Working closely with the Guest Welcome Manager to effectively control front office wage costs and maximising revenue opportunities.
  • Proactively managing guest engagement & feedback with the utmost professionalism.
  • Ordering stock and minimising wastage to ensure expenses are controlled within the department.
  • Working together with trust so that colleagues and management meet the goals of the Hotel.
  • Rostering and inducting your team members within their first week of employment.
  • Balancing the Hotel's daily accounts, including preparation of financial reports
  • Monitoring the safety and security of our colleagues, guests, visitors and hotel property
  • Openly communicate with the team ensuring regular team briefings to share key information and handovers between the reception and night audit teams.
  • Accurately closing off & rolling over the PMS

What we're looking for:

  • Previous experience as a Hotel Night Manager in a 200+ Hotel with multiple outlets
  • A hands on and approachable management style
  • Previous experience with preferably OPERA, MICROS, purchaseplus and Timetarget desirable
  • The ability to ability to motivate, train and lead a diverse and guest focused team.
  • Excellent communication skills & a high standard of grooming & presentation
  • Hold a current RSA and First Aid Certificate
  • A meticulous attention to detail.
  • A solution focused attitude, uses initiative and strong problemsolving skills.
  • The ability & flexibility to work fulltime across a 7 day working environment at night between the hours of 11pm and 7am including weekends and public holidays.
