About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Night Manager to join our team at Novotel Surfers Paradise. As a key member of our front office team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the hotel during night shifts, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hold responsibility and accountability for the efficient operation of the hotel.
  • Cross-check and balance work completed during the day for all outlets on a shift.
  • Warmly welcome guests, assist with luggage, and ensure an efficient arrival and departure of our guests.
  • Ensure professionalism and accuracy with information and billing during arrival and departure.
  • Assist in maintaining responsibility for the overall auditing and administration function of the Night Audit team.
  • Maintain procedures for cash handling and security on front desk.
  • Conduct daily hotel auditing, including balance of revenue and payments from all hotel outlets.
  • Proactive complaint resolutions, focusing on a win-win outcome.
  • Promptly respond to all enquiries, including reception, switchboard, and reservations.
  • Ensure all details of regular guests and Loyalty members are updated regularly.
  • Proactively work with our security team to effectively manage the safety and security of our guests and be prepared for fire or emergency situations.
  • Accurately close off and roll over the PMS.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Hotel Night Manager and night audit in a high-volume hotel (200+ rooms).
  • Proven experience with PMS: Opera cloud.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, communication, and time management skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills and an Excel expert.
  • A friendly and warm personality with immaculate grooming and presentation.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • A willingness to use initiative and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Possess a proactive and resourceful approach with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work evening shifts (11pm – 7am) over a rotating roster as per business needs, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Willingness to obtain or have a current QLD RSA and First Aid Certificate.
  • Qualifications in Accounting and/or Finance desirable but not essential.
  • Excellence in your field and the demonstrated ability to act as a true ambassador for our hotel.
  • Must hold unlimited work rights in Australia.
