Mining - Engineering & Maintenance (Mining, Resources & Energy)

The Nathan River Resources mine site is located 50km inland from the Gulf of Carpentaria and approximately 760km from Darwin, we are the proud owner and operator of the Roper Bar Iron Ore Mine. We take pride in our in-house mine, marine and trans-shipment division, which manages a fleet of mine and marine assets dedicated to our operations.

As a result of the remarkable success of our initial operations, we are now seeking a Senior Mining Engineer.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Safety and environmental awareness, emphasizing teamwork
  • Managing Tech Services team on site
  • Optimizing and implementing Short & Medium Term Plan to achieve goals
  • Analysis and reporting of daily production data with a focus on Pit to Port
  • Preparing periodic and monthly reports for management
  • Reviewing production information and variances to budget/estimate
  • Contributing to short and medium-term planning and scheduling
  • Supervising Drill & Blast contractor
  • Proactively seeking Business Improvement opportunities
  • Owning BI initiatives dedicated to mine production and drill/blast areas

FIFO Roster Ex Darwin: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Recognized qualification in Mining or related discipline
  • Strong background in Mine Planning and Drill & Blast in a large-scale open-cut environment
  • Effective interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Collaborative approach with other departments and disciplines
  • Previous drill/blast and dewatering experience advantageous
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of programs
  • Experience with mine-planning software like Surpac & Xact beneficial
