Our Lihir Processing Department is seeking a standout individual for the Engineer – Process Control position in a FIFO role at our Lihir Gold Operation (LGO).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring individual and team adherence to all HSE regulations & policies, including Fitness for Work.
  • Offering feedback to team members, collaborating with stakeholders impacted by work activities. Engaging in the safety system to ensure personal and peer safety.
  • Enhancing technical expertise, monitoring technical systems, and building relationships with both external and internal partners.
  • Managing technical accountabilities concerning onsite equipment and systems, such as Foxboro DCS, Allen Bradley PLCs, AB PanelView HMIs, Workstations, Servers, and the Foxboro DCS Control Systems Network (FDCS).
  • Developing action plans, monitoring performance, implementing work schedules, and reporting to senior staff.
  • Managing Bridges & Forces registry, documenting Software Change Requests, implementing work schedules, and overseeing project tasks.
  • Planning and executing project initiatives.
  • Reviewing and developing SOPs.
  • Implementing Software Change Requests, as well as planning and executing projects.

Our ideal candidate will ideally possess:

  • Degree Certificate in Electrical, Electronic Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Certificate in Workplace Assessment and Training, or equivalent certification desirable.
  • Proficiency in process control engineering software and systems.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in Control and Monitoring Systems within Mining, Petrochemical, or Processing Industry.
  • Familiarity with a mining process plant, though not mandatory.
  • Aiding in cost reduction, enhancing plant performance, and boosting production efficiency at minimal costs.
  • Persistently seeking ways to enhance work efficiency.

Requirements:

  • This position is open to PNG citizens and current Newmont employees.
  • Willingness to work on a FIFO basis in PNG.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment health assessments.
  • Readiness to undergo Police Character Checks.
