THE ROLE:


Diverse role processing referrals and coordinating an effective response for women with or without children who are leaving domestic/family violence.

You will be joining a
supportive and inclusive environment for both our clients and employees. We value teamwork, collaboration, and continuous learning to ensure the highest level of care and support for our clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct comprehensive client initial assessment in a clientfocused, trauma informed, nonjudgemental, and culturally appropriate manner.
  • Refer eligible clients to designated accommodation services and attend site for client arrival.
  • Maintain and update information in the Society data base including all administrative tasks associated with assessment and referrals.
  • Maintain privacy and confidentiality according to the Society's Code of Conduct and Privacy policy and relevant legislation.
  • Maintain good relationships with other bodies that interact with the Society and its clients.
  • Maintain a broad understanding of State and Federal government policies that have a direct impact on the delivery of services to people who are escaping domestic and family violence, and at risk of homelessness.

YOU WILL NEED:

The St Vincent de Paul Society considers being a woman is a genuine occupational qualification for this position under section 31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW)
:

  • Appropriate degree and/or diploma or highly regarded domestic and family violence experience (minimum 2 years).
  • NSW driver licence flexibility to travel to meet client's needs.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing crisis intervention and case work for people with complex and/or highlevel needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and to work independently and unsupervised.
  • Understanding of child protection issues, legislation, and requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to use client database and Microsoft Office packages such as Word, Excel, Outlook.
