Reporting to the HR Services Manager and an integral member of the People Experience team you will be responsible for providing administrative and technical support to the team through analysis of information, production of regular reports, delivery of programs and technical backup for Managers.

You will have interaction on a daily basis with Uniting's recruitment team, payroll team and the wider people experience team.


In order to successfully onboard new employees and contractors to Uniting, adherence to compliance is critical, your high attention to detail, your focus and ability to find solutions to issues that may arise will serve you well to succeed in this fantastic role.

This role will suit someone used to working at a fast pace, and understands service level expectations and deadlines

Produce weekly compliance reports to proactively manage and communicate any compliance issues that may arise.


You are able to see the 'bigger picture' and consider the ramifications from actions, decisions and interactions with the broader People Experience teams.

You will need to be a confident communicator with the ability to take ownership for your role's responsibilities as you strive to achieve goals with a 'can-do' attitude to all levels of excellence.


You will be part of a fun and friendly supportive team and you will cross train in other areas and work on HR projects.


As HR Compliance Officer your role specifically will;

  • Maintain high levels of compliance for all new starters and employees in accordance overall current legislation.
  • Assist in managing information and communication over multiple databases.
  • Understanding of the purpose and expectations of Awards, pre
- employment checks such as working with children checks, working with vulnerable people checks, checks for volunteers, Work rights, VEVO, AHPRA, NDIS and Covid-19 vaccination checks

  • Audit and ensure all expired checks are renewed before expiry date.
  • Update information on systems such as Preceda, PageUp and Excel,
  • Be first point of contact for employees and work towards solving queries or issues, this can include employment award, variation, policies, remuneration, leave and overall workplace relations matters.
  • Run various reports as required

Qualifications and Experience:

Typically this role will require 1-2 or more years' experience in an administrative environment**- Tertiary/Bachelor qualification in Human Resources, business or equivalent work experience.

  • A mature approach, discretion and sound judgment combined with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and complete work accurately and on time.
  • Knowledge of current employment legislation
  • Well developed written and verbal communication skills and innate ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels
  • Competent level of use in MS Office, especially in Excel.
