We are seeking a highly skilled Head of Employment Relations and Industrial Relations to develop, lead and manage an employee relations strategy that supports our overall business strategy

About You:

You have a wealth of experience managing Employment Relations and Industrial Relations in multi-site customer facing industries. You have negotiated and managed multiple Enterprise Agreements in organisations with a strong union presence. You have a strategic mindset and enjoy the challenge of contributing to the future growth of your employer by building a strong policy foundation and Employment and Industrial Relations framework.

Qualification and Experience:

  • Tertiary and ideally, post graduate qualifications in Human Resources, Law or a related discipline .
  • Expert knowledge of relevant legislations and regulation in Australia/New Zealand in a multi-location context.
  • Extensive experience providing strategic direction and advice to support People and Culture professional's operational leadership.
  • Expert knowledge and experience in ER / IR matters, legislation and requirements.
  • Strong research and analytical skills in support of people-related critical decisions.
  • Experience in the development of human resource management policy and frameworks.
  • Data driven with proficiency with human resources related technology and Microsoft Office applications.

About the role:

As a senior leader and key member of the People and Culture Leadership Team, you will be responsible for transforming developing and driving our Employment Relations strategy. You will need to be both hands on and strategic and be comfortable working within a complex industrial environment with strong union representation and multiple industrial instruments. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the development of EBA strategy that supports business strategy.
  • Management of complex investigations.
  • Oversee less complex investigations.
  • Leading a small team and working extensively with HR Business Partners.
  • Managing relationships with unions and other key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Overseeing all EBA negotiations.
  • Developing policy and procedure, tools, and resources to ensure HRBPs and managers are skilled and equipped to comply with policies and legislation.
