What you'll do:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Merchandise Planning to join the API Wholesale & Pharmacy Services team.

Reporting to the General Manager of Product and Replenishment, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in connecting the Product and Replenishment teams; bringing to life the category performance targets with insights, strategy development and implementation of the merchandise plans.

Working hand in hand through cross-functional collaboration with the Replenishment, Supply Chain and Priceline Merchandise teams, you will support the Wesfarmers Health strategy with inventory forecasts and stock management processes for Ethicals and over the counter (OTC) product categories.

Other key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Leading the category plan and strategy development to ensure maximum growth opportunities across the portfolio.

Range Policy Development from a Customer and Commercial lens; developing clear requirements and metrics for Range Architecture and Range Optimisation processes.

Overseeing the NPD Process and deletion plan management from planning through to execution across all operational processes.
Leading the design and processes of implementation of open-to-buy (OTB) management, to integrate category forecasts with inventory forecasts.

Leading the unhealthy stock reporting and management process, including developing plans for stock reduction activities to release the open-to-buy (OTB) for reinvestment in healthy stock.

Developing and refining API wholesale pricing strategies in alignment with business objectives, market conditions, and competitive landscape.
Continuously assess pricing models and adjust pricing structures to maximise profitability while maintaining competitiveness.
Analysing category financial performance to identify growth opportunities.
Driving commercial transformation and innovation aligned with corporate/merchandise strategy.

What you'll bring:

To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated a successful track record in a similar position, ideally in a large-scale environment that is fast paced with the added complexity of dealing with date sensitive articles.

You'll have extensive Merchandise planning experience with an in depth understanding of financial planning principles and a strong ability to analyse sales data and market trends to drive business decisions.

In addition, you are a natural and inspirational leader with the ability to influence and drive operational excellence with the ability to oversee and develop a team of merchandise and category managers.

Other attributes and experiences that will make you succeed include: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in merchandise planning, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Extensive experience in developing and implementing merchandise planning strategies to achieve sales, margin, and inventory targets.
Demonstrated proficiency in working capital management and optimisation techniques.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and drive operational efficiency.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Bachelor's degree is highly desired.
