About the Role


As an integral member of our Senior Leadership Team, the Claims Operations Manager is responsible for achieving our business objectives, including quality and performance measures by managing, driving and improving the performance of the Claims Operations team.

Working across our business and with key stakeholders this is a key role responsible for delivering business strategies, policies and practices.


The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Demonstrating outstanding people leadership
  • Working closely with WorkSafe Victoria, employers and other key stakeholders
  • Ensuring business performance metrics are achieved and exceeded
  • Cooperate with other departments to achieve business goals
  • Identify issues within area of responsibility and propose solutions to address them
  • Undertake performance reviews, both informal and formal, to address issues early
  • Frequently reviewing the performance of the team against key performance indicators, team and individual measures and to act to ensure their achievement
  • Identify training needs / undertake Personal Development Plans for each staff member
  • Develop and implement claims management plans and strategies to maximise performance
  • Significant role in long term planning to generate operational excellence
  • Ensure observance of operational procedures and audit processes and outcomes
- seek and implement other strategies to improve claims and injury management outcomes, reduce claims liabilities and return injured workers to work as soon as possible

  • Drive a performance driven culture by reviewing and implementing customer surveys, complaints procedures, employee training and effective HR programs
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Understanding of challenges for individuals reengaging with employment markets
  • Welldeveloped decision making, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Extensive experience in the workers compensation or personal injury industry
