Having been established in the Newcastle area for several years, this local firm is constantly seeking improvement. Whether it be improving their client focus, modifying their internal processes or empowering their team to innovate. The partnership is not scared of change, listening to their team or enhancing their capabilities.

Having recently reviewed their journey over the last few years, succession planning is high on their future plans. What does this mean? Put simply, they need to attract a quality Manager or Senior/Supervisor that is seeking a real partnership opportunity. They will also put in a development plan to guide future progression.

It is apparent from speaking with most of the team that customer service and on time delivery is the norm. It was also obvious that the firm enjoy a regular social calendar of team building events.

Located in the inner suburbs of Newcastle, parking is always available within a few minutes' walk to the office. Great coffee, plenty of places to grab lunch or a few "home staples" are a few steps away from the firm's front door.

About This Opportunity

Being a key appointment, initially you will inherit an established team of eager young accountants who are thirsty to learn from your experiences. You will work closely with the partners, to ensure that all aspects of the team's output is of a high standard. Additionally, you will take on the management of some of the firm's larger clients.

As the Partners encourage autonomy, ownership and responsibility, client contact is a must, and you will need to be comfortable with this. You can't sit in a corner and simply "crunch" numbers.

Like most Manager roles, you will become a "reviewer" and "trainer" for your teams work prior to partner sign off. You will also assist in the team's development and encourage them to research issues that are unfamiliar or challenging to them.

About You

Ideally, you will have worked in an Australian firm for over six years. You will have completed your degree and CA or CPA. You will also be seeking an opportunity to demonstrate your strong leadership and technical accounting skills. Remember this is not just a compliance focussed role. You will be challenged with a variety of adhoc projects that will require innovation, research and plenty of hard work.

Your experiences with a broad variety of business clients in multiple industries will assist you to make a positive impact in this role as will your confident and friendly personality. But the most critical factor of all will be your willingness to interact and participate in the firm's activities. Being a team player is a must.

Remuneration & How To Apply

A highly competitive salary package will be made available to the successful applicant. As a guide, the successful applicant can expect a salary package in the range of $125,000 to $150,000. A broad range of non-financial benefits are also available.
