The opportunity


As a member of the Australian Industry Capability team, the
Australian Industry Capability (AIC) Specialist is responsible for developing and delivering the implementation of Australian Industry Capability (AIC) strategies, initiatives and plans across Boeing Defence Australia (BDA).


Responsibilities

  • Engaging with Australian and New-Zealand industry, in collaboration with BDA's Sourcing team, to assess Australian capabilities and inclusion within the BDA Supply Chain;
  • Working with Boeing's Strategy Team to review future business opportunities and identifying how AIC can support securing such opportunities;
  • Developing and implementing AIC strategies in support of campaigns that maximise participation of Australian Industry
  • Support delivery of BDA supplier capability uplift projects and initiatives that deliver meaningful outcomes for Small to Medium Enterprises and diverse suppliers
  • Drafting AIC plans for new business in line with Strategic directions;
  • Remaining current with government policy, as it pertains to AIC, and ensuring BDA remains informed of and aligned to government policy;
  • Champion Australian Industry within BDA and establishing positive working relationships with Functions, Programs and Capabilities;
  • Supporting current programs with review and updating of AIC Plans;
  • Conducting reviews on progress against AIC Plan commitments;
  • Providing recommendations for increasing AIC content within current programs;
  • Examine commonality across programs, driving crossprogram capability initiatives;
  • Support industry engagements in relation to AIC, as required.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Related experience (minimum 5 years) in the development of supply chains and / or AIC (or a related field) and demonstrated achievement.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Business or Engineering is preferred.
  • Project Management experience desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and in writing, including the ability to speak in public and work under pressure to liaise effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders
