About the role
Intensive Home Based Support Services (IHBSS) will deliver support for people with a mental illness who require sub-acute care and when an intensive level of psychosocial support is required to re
- establish a person's capacity for community living. This support will be short term (up to three months) delivered as a partnership between public mental health services and the nongovernment sector. Although the main role of the NGO Services Coordinator is to facilitate the appropriate identification and referral of consumers in acute/sub-acute settings into the Intensive Home Based Support Service (IHBSS) Program, this role is also responsible for identification and referral of consumers into other programs where appropriate. The role will be based within a regional team and will work with staff to ensure that consumers are identified, allocated, provided with care coordination, referred to the appropriate non-government organisation, reviewed, exited or transferred as appropriate to longer term support services where required.

Qualification

  • An appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers/or
  • An appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia/or
  • Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology or equivalent qualification recognised by the Psychology BA and general registration with Psychology BA and an endorsed area of Practice in Clinical Psychology.
