Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital Midwifery Ward is recruiting a Midwifery Unit Manager (Level 2) to complement and enrich the current Midwifery team.
The Midwifery team provide patient-centred specialised care and are committed to quality and safe care to enhance our community's experience. Successful candidates will have an opportunity to work in a diverse workplace, with a multi-disciplinary team in a cohesive and collaborative unit.

Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital is located in the city of Bankstown and is in one of the most multicultural local government areas (LGA) in Australia. This hospital has tertiary affiliations with three universities and offers a range of roles and experiences to employees.
The hospital receives highly diverse presentations in ED as well as having general medical and surgical services and sub-specialty services across the hospital. What you'll be doing
The Midwifery Unit Manager (MUM) is in-charge of all aspects of the unit environment and takes overall responsibility for the standard of patient care in the unit. The MUM is pivotal to the coordination of patient care, unit management and leadership to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care and efficient use of resources.

How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible
- Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent work experience or a combination of study and experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD.
- Demonstrated senior nursing experience with experience in leading staff and managing services in a relevant setting.
- Proven ability to ensure the human, physical and financial resources of the unit are managed to provide safe, compassionate, quality care that is culturally responsive
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs
- Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and manage conflicts and performance issues when they arise
- Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the management of the unit and the delivery of evidenced based nursing care
- Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace
