As a Business Development Consultant, you will actively engage with employers, participants to secure sustainable employment opportunities.

SYC delivers employment services at over 50 locations throughout Australia, and you'll be working across our sites in the
North East Melbourne region
:
Epping, Whittlesea, Heidelberg, Lilydale, Healesville, Warburton, Preston, Ringwood, and Wantirna South.


In this role, you'll be part of a supportive and result driven team who are dedicated to our vision of well-being, independence, and opportunity for everyone.

Day

- to-day activities will include:

  • Engaging with employers, Registered Training Organisations and Apprentice Centres
  • Developing connections and negotiating employment options for participants with local employers
  • Working with training organisations and employers to coordinate opportunities.
  • Developing strategies and linkages to maximise cohort employment pathways.
  • Identify opportunities to develop new business and meet local labour markets and industries

About You

  • Previous experience in sales, employment services and/or a project coordinator role or capability to create pathways to work opportunities
  • Strong engagement skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills with welldeveloped verbal, and written skills, and the ability to prepare and conduct effective presentations.
  • Selfmotivation and initiative, with welldeveloped organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines and attend to multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Interpersonal, conflict resolution and negotiation skills along with the ability to identify innovative and lateral solutions to problems.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and/or understanding of Government Employment services

For this role, you will need to:

  • Be willing to complete a Working with Children Check and National Police Check
  • Be eligible to work in Australia
  • Occasional out of hours work and intrastate travel maybe required
  • Prepared to work from, or be located at, any SYC site is required
