Development Project Manager

Dove & Hawk are working in partnership with a renowned developer who are the process of sourcing a Development Project Manager for a project in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. The purpose of the role is to manage the development from the brief preparation through to planning approval, bringing the development to the market, delivery of the project in consultation with construction departments, disposal by way of unit sales, lettings, and investment sales, and handover to the estates and asset management department. This role will suit someone who has prior experience dealing with Local Authorities in a similar capacity, ideally with a planning background.
Duties/Functions of the role:
- Building a project team from internal departments to ensure the project can be managed effectively.
- Developing, maintaining, monitoring, and reporting against, detailed development appraisals, programmes and budgets.
- Identifying suitable candidates, shortlisting, competitively procuring, and appointing all external consultants.
- Ensuring the design of the development is progressively signed off internally at appropriate stages.
- Ensuring Construction Costs and Risks are accurately monitored and reported through the development process.
- Monitoring financial planning of development with the project financial controller.
- Monitoring Town Planning risks and negotiations in consultation with the planning team and consultants.
- Managing all negotiations with external stakeholders using relevant internal/external resources.
- Consulting with either commercial and/or residential departments to review sales and marketing strategy, tenant requirements, residential sales options etc.
- Ensuring project appraisal is accurate and reflects the current scheme. Changes in appraisal resulting from design changes should be monitored and reported.
- Co-ordinating project reports for review at monthly meetings. Includinging all relevant information from respective departments.
- Monitoring the project during the procurement and implementation phases to ensure aspirations are not lost in the transition from design.
- Ensuring commercial tenants' requirements are met and the interfaces are managed properly.
Requirements of the role:
- A broad knowledge base of property development is essential.
- Experience working with Local Authorities, LLCD & GLA.
- A background in construction, consulting, town planning and/or surveying.
- Broad experience with different building types and the development process.
- An effective communicator at all levels.
- Experience with Team building and management
- Exceptional prioritisation and decision-making skills.
Salary Budgets: £80-100,000 per annum, plus bonus and benefits.
Required working hours: Monday to Friday 40 hours per week
