The primary purpose of the Digital Project Officer with the UNESCO Chair is to provide high level digital and project support to the UNESCO Chair in Comparative Research on Cultural Diversity and Social Justice.


This position is attached to the UNESCO Chair and located within the Alfred Deakin Research Institute for Citizenship and Globalisation (ADI), Deakin University's large, high-profile research and research training facility for cross-disciplinary research based in the humanities and social sciences.

The Institute is part of the Faculty of Arts and Education and features cross disciplinary and problem-oriented approaches to research that informs public debate and public policy.


Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, implementing and optimising social media channels and content plans such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Twitter for the UNESCO Chair
  • Growing audiences and engagement on social channels through the development and delivery of content to drive traffic to the websites and other relevant digital assets to achieve organisational goals
  • Developing and providing the necessary documentation and reporting to support the management and coordination of UNESCO Chair projects

To be successful, you'll have:

  • Appropriate tertiary qualification in relevant field or equivalent
  • Knowledge of the digital media landscape and content requirements for each media channel
  • Experience in frontend development, including within CMS platforms such as Squiz Matrix, WordPress Coding to WCAG 2.0 standards
  • Exceptional understanding of website design, information architecture, usability testing, split testing, web analytics and digital marketing
  • Knowledge of HTML and website architecture
  • Experience in project management and/or administration in large complex organisations
  • Experience managing stakeholders to achieve project outcomes
  • Knowledge of project methodology, tools practice
