The Company

Established in 2000, Montessori Academy is Australia's leading and largest provider of Montessori early childhood education for children under the age of six. Our vision is to provide our students with an early learning experience that prepares them, not only for school, but for life. With more than 20 campuses across Sydney, and many more in development, Montessori Academy provides excellent career development options, fantastic training and development programs, and a real opportunity to learn and grow. For us, excellence in education is a journey, and we're with you every step of the way. For more information see:

Why work in a Montessori environment?

Unlike play-based childcare centres and preschools, Montessori Academy nurtures the uniqueness of each child and provides an early learning experience that prepares them, not only for school, but for life.

In a Montessori classroom, educators serve as a link between the Prepared Environment and the children. Their role is to observe the children and guide them in their own unique learning process, to help them develop a life-long love of learning. Activities and learning experiences are implemented to suit each child's current interests, needs and stage of development, to allow them to learn at their own pace. The educator-child relationship is based on trust and respect, which creates a positive learning environment where children feel safe, valued, and supported in their learning journey.

The Role

As a Nominated Supervisor, you are responsible for the guidance, support and general supervision of children, staff, and volunteers at the service. You are expected to lead a team of Educators to ensure they are working in accordance to the service philosophy, policy and procedures, and as per the National Quality Standards (NQS), to provide high quality education and care for all enrolled children.

  • Ensure the health, safety and well-being of all enrolled children, staff, and volunteers at the service
  • Be the Responsible Person in Charge (RPIC) at the service
  • Train and support the staff in understanding, designing, and implementing the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and Montessori Curriculum
  • Ensure staff fulfill all aspects of their job descriptions
  • Provide ongoing support and assistance to the management team in all areas of administrative procedures, curriculum development, parent and community liaison, staff professional development and training, and any other areas as the need arises
  • Promote the service and ensure optimal centre occupancy
