  • Being a crucial part of the pre-opening team, preparing this brand-new hotel for its first guests
  • Introducing innovative work methods, participating in our IHG Service Training, and motivating your team to adopt InterContinental's work approach
  • Handling hotel deliveries and ensuring they reach the correct destinations
  • Assigning daily engineering tasks correctly to the appropriate team members
  • Creating a safe, protected, and pleasant environment for our guests to enjoy
  • Managing inventory, ordering supplies efficiently, and supporting our sustainability initiatives
  • Remaining adaptable to respond to unexpected tasks that require teamwork to be completed
  • Establishing strong partnerships with external contractors
  • Overseeing daily staffing requirements, delegating tasks, and setting performance goals for team members
  • Providing guidance, coaching, and consistent feedback to enhance team performance
  • Training and educating team members on legal compliance, safety regulations, and job-specific skills
  • Ensuring the team is well-versed in systems, security measures, service standards, and quality practices

Requirements for the role

  • Advanced vocational training and at least four years of experience in building maintenance or construction, or a comparable combination of education and experience
  • Specialized knowledge in plumbing, electrical work, mechanical tasks, and carpentry is advantageous
  • Prior experience in the hotel industry is preferred
  • Relevant professional certifications and licenses as per Australian regulations
